Over the weekend, Brett and I had the privilege of representing the Digital Resilience Project at BSides Melbourne.

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

Like many in the cybersecurity community, I’ve attended BSides for years. It’s a conference built on generosity, curiosity and a genuine willingness to share knowledge. The organisers, volunteers, speakers and sponsors create an environment where everyone—from students to seasoned practitioners—can learn from one another and contribute to something bigger than themselves.

It was an honour to share the Digital Resilience Project’s story and our vision for using cybersecurity skills to support people experiencing technology-facilitated abuse. What struck me most wasn’t just the interest in our presentation, but the conversations afterwards. Meeting so many people who are passionate about using their skills to make a positive difference reminded me just how strong and generous our community is.

To everyone who came along to our session, stopped to chat, asked thoughtful questions or expressed an interest in volunteering—thank you. Your encouragement means a great deal, and we’re excited about what we can achieve together.
