Intake and Triage Volunteer – National
This role is the front door to our service, turning complex, high‑risk digital abuse situations into clear, prioritised cases that can be safely managed by our cyber and safeguarding teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Receiving and documenting referrals from individuals and partner organisations
- Exploring presenting issues in a calm, trauma‑informed way
- Applying our risk‑management system across domains
- Summarising key information clearly for the Safeguarding and Risk Coordinator, Clinical Manager and cyber leads
- Distinguishing when The Digital Resilience Project is the appropriate response
- Communicating boundaries and expectations with clients and referrers, including what we can and cannot provide
- Maintaining accurate, secure records in line with privacy, confidentiality and data‑handling protocols
- Participating in supervision, debriefing and quality‑improvement activities to refine intake questions, workflows and risk tools
This role conducts safety‑led intake conversations and structured risk triage to help prioritise who we see first, and to protect both clients and volunteers. It supports decision‑making; it does not replace clinical, legal or law‑enforcement functions.
Who this role is for
This role is suited to individuals with experience or strong interest in intake, triage, or frontline support in areas such as DFV, mental health, social work, legal assistance, helplines or community services. You will be someone who:
- Can stay calm and grounded while hearing distressing or complex information
- Is comfortable following structured tools, checklists and escalation rules
- Communicates clearly, listens deeply and respects boundaries and confidentiality
- Is motivated to help survivors be heard and safely connected to the right support
Time Commitment
This role is flexible. Volunteers can contribute as much or as little time as their capacity allows.
As a guide, many volunteers contribute between 2–8 hours per week. However, this may vary depending on individual availability and the type of work undertaken. Volunteers are encouraged to select a level of engagement that is sustainable and appropriate for them.
