Volunteer Information Session
Emerald Sage (1 July 2026)
On 1 July, we held our first Volunteer Information Session for the Digital Resilience Project, and I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who joined us.
Every volunteer who joins us strengthens our ability to help someone regain control of their digital life. That’s a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.
When we established the Digital Resilience Project, we knew there were incredibly talented people across Australia who wanted to use their skills to make a difference. Seeing so many people take the time to learn about our mission, ask thoughtful questions and explore how they might contribute was both humbling and inspiring.

It was a privilege to share our vision alongside our Director of Cyber & Digital Safety, Brett Williams, and to hear from our very first volunteer, James Martin, about why he chose to become involved. Together, we discussed the growing impact of technology-facilitated abuse, the role volunteers will play in supporting victim-survivors, and how professional skills from cyber security, intelligence, digital forensics, project management, communications, research and many other disciplines can help create meaningful change.
If you weren’t able to join us, you can watch a recording of the session here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYGMgFqnJ_U
We’re looking forward to welcoming many of you into our volunteer community over the coming months and sharing the next chapter of the Digital Resilience Project with you.
