At the AIPIO Conference
Emerald Sage
The Digital Resilience Project was proud to present at the Australian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers (AIPIO) 2026 Conference last month. Our talk and accompanying practitioner paper to the AIPIO journal were titled:
Beyond National Security: Applying Intelligence Tradecraft to Technology-Facilitated Abuse.
Technology-facilitated abuse is an emerging intelligence problem. Victim-survivors and those supporting them must make critical safety decisions amid incomplete information, uncertain attribution and rapidly changing risk—conditions intelligence professionals are trained to navigate.

Drawing on frontline digital-safety practice, the paper and our talk demonstrated how intelligence tradecraft can support safer, more defensible decisions. Applied with informed consent, professional collaboration and clear boundaries, these methods can extend beyond national security to help protect victim-survivors, while keeping their safety, privacy and agency at the centre.
